Description In the remote village of Noblejas, in the finest part of La Mancha, central Spain, lies a traditional house, surrounded by ancient vineyards. Hidden beneath the house, is a cellar, carved into the limestone bedrock, providing the perfect environment for keeping everything cool, even in the height of summer. The winemaker is sixth-generation Bienvenido (like his dad – it’s a Spanish tradition to name the firstborn after the parent). He learnt his skill from his father, a former La Mancha ‘Winemaker of the Year’. Vega Muñoz is a delicious, supple red crafted from old-vine Merlot, Tempranillo and Syrah. It's fermented in traditional clay tinajas, which emphasises the pure fruit, and matured in oak barrels. Pour a glass and bring on the tapas.
