Description Fiano, gaining popularity over here, is one of Italy’s best-loved white grape varieties that excels on the slopes of Sicily. There’s a dash of another star, Grecanico in this lively, crisp white with delicate notes of bright apple, pear and blossom. Chill down – it’s great to sip solo and also works well with seafood or risotto. In 1958 in Sicily's town of Menfi, 68 winemakers signed a pact to preserve the island's vineyards and thereby a way of life. 60+ years later, this cooperative has been named 'Winery of the Year' twice – in 2018 by Vini d’Italia and 2017 by Germany’s Weinwirtschaft. It’s also gained top marks in the renowned Gambero Rosso wine guide. Winemaker there is Domenico de Gregorio, Mimmo to his friends, who works with top wine consultant Alberto Antonini and viticulturalist Pedro Parra.
