Description "This is great... a lovely wine." St. John’s was set up in WA’s Blackwood Valley and Yelverton at the end of the century. This 94pt Shiraz is from Vineyards in Margaret River’s Yelverton. “This is great. The fruit is concentrated and red, littering the palate with raspberry, mulberry and blueberries. The oak is present, it shapes the fruit, and it leaves a trail of flavour through the finish. Very good – quite big, and the length of flavour is long. A lovely wine.” (Erin Larkin, The Halliday Wine Companion).

Margaret River

Renowned for its surf breaks, Margaret River is also famous for its wine production and tourism. Margaret River wines account for just 3% of Australia’s annual wine production, but commands over 20 percent of the Australian premium wine market.

Little wonder the wines are rather pricey in nature. The region is made up of boutique wineries. The weather is maritime, with warm summers, influenced by refreshing sea breezes and strong winds and rather akin to Bordeaux.
