Description When given the opportunity to taste this special white, crafted by the talented Alex Russell, our wine team were like bulls at the gate. We're pleased they haven't tucked it away behind the all too common 'white blend' title. Be loud and proud we say! The Riesling (50%) brings citrus to this delicious wine, there is spice and strawberry from the Pinot Gris (25%), and floral rose water and tropical lychee notes from the Gewürztraminer (25%). The slightly oily texture of Gris matches well with the silky texture of fresh Tasmanian scallops, whilst the acidity of the wine adds some freshness and zing. "It's great to see these Euro-style 'fruit salad' blends appearing on the local wine scene – grape varieties that pull in the same direction and provide focus, texture and, more often than not, fascinating drinking. Pale straw, green apple, nashi pear and citrus fruits, a touch of guava and lychee, some soft spice and struck match complexity with a wave of white flowers and white pepper. Textural, mouth-filling and good drinking times. Ausgezeichnet!... 92pts. Value Star" (Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion).
