Description Rowlee’s vineyard was planted over 20 years ago by Nik and Deonne Samodol in the high-elevation (950m) cool climate of Orange. Their daughter, Nicole Samodol, and her partner James Manny ‘combine European wine growing heritage with New World practices. This is a "... very impressive Rosé..." with scores of 93pts from both Winepilot and Wine Orbit. Don't mistake the watermelon colour for sweetness, Nicole Bilson in Winepilot implores us: "There’s delicate rose petals, ruby red grapefruit, bright strawberries and a hint of pink peppercorn spice. An abundance of red fruits on the palate make it feel lusciously plush, but the vivacious acidity ensures any assumptions of sweetness are laid to rest. Textural and savoury with lingering flavours of grapefruit and fresh bursts of red currants. A very impressive Rosé. 93pts” (Nicole Bilson, Winepilot). Sam Kim calls it “Fine and delicately lifted, the bouquet shows raspberry, apricot and lemon peel... elegant weight and juicy fruit flavours, splendidly supported by lively acidity, making it refreshing and fabulously appealing. 93pts.” The winery suggests “This style of rosé wine pairs beautifully with antipasto and is the perfect picnic wine”. Cheers!
