Description Love your Cabernet? You’ll love thiselevated mix, with luxurious drops from exceptional estates: Willow Bridge, Coriole, Byron & Harold, Jim Barry, Château Tanunda and Leconfield. Deliciously dark, dense and complex, they come from top Cabernet regions – the Barossa, Coonawarra, and McLaren Vale in South Australia, and Margaret River and Geographe in WA. These are impressive – and they’re yours for an exceptional $17.99 a bottle.
The Dragonfly Cabernet Merlot is an expression of the deep dark fruit characters attained from the Ferguson Valley wine region, rich and smooth with lashings of chocolate. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and a splash of juicy Malbec!
Clark Hill, named after the land on which the Coriole estate was built, is an impressively rich blend of lush Cabernet planted in 1988, and spicy Shiraz planted in 1969. Savour subtle lavendar aromas and a melee of plum, cassis and redcurrant.
Lifted aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry and vanilla are accompanied by vibrant, dark berry fruits on the palate. The finish is long with fine-grained tannins from eighteen months maturation in a combination of new and seasoned French oak barrels.
Great fruit purity and varietal expression with lower alcohol which helps the aromatics pop. On the palate, concentrated mulberry and blackberry are balanced by cool-climate acidity, savoury forest floor notes and lingering tannins.
Winemaker Paul Gordon is making good use of the beautifully sited mature vines at this “distinguished estate with a proud history. Long renowned for its Cabernet” (Halliday) – and this powerfully intense example proves it!
The Jim Barry estate is famous for its fine Clare reds, but a family vineyard in Coonawarra is the origin of this lush single vineyard star. It’s already a Gold winner – taste it here!
