Description The Son of a Bull range from Russell & Suitor is made up of approachable wines that encourage wine lovers to 'live in the moment', much like a bull waiting at a gate. They're crafted to drink and enjoy right now – not to collect dust in the bull pen (wine rack). Alex Russell is turning out some really exceptional wines under this value-packed label – they're juicy, delicious and very, very moreish. The Tasmanian Pinot Noir has a nose of fleshy dark fruit and plums integrated with spicy French oak and a dash of musk. Soft front palate tannins open the gate to a subtle mid-palate and a long soft finish.
Located at a more southerly latitude than the rest of Australian wine regions, Tasmania has a much cooler climate and the potential to make distinctly different cool-climate wines than in the rest of the country. It was actually one of Australia’s first wine regions to be planted to grapes. The area grows primarily Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc with splashes of Riesling, Pinot Gris and Cabernet Sauvignon.
