Description According to Wine Spectator, Portugal is “the most exciting wine place on the planet” and with delicious reds like this, it's hard to argue. Portuga is a luscious, rich red made by Casa Santos Lima, a grand Portuguese estate in the Lisboa region, just north of the capitol and close to the Atlantic. The winery was founded by Joaquim Santos Lima in the late 19th century, and three generations later is one of Portugal’s most go-ahead cellars, with Maria João Santos Lima and José Luís Santos Lima Oliveira da Silva, granddaughter and great grandson of the founder, at the helm. Portuga is a rich, velvety blend of native varieties Castelão and Touriga Franca, with Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, aged gently in oak.
