Description Albariño may be best known from Spain’s Rías Baixas region, but this is a cracking, tangy-fresh example from California’s stunning Santa Barbara County. Both regions lie relatively close to the coast and enjoy a similar cooling influence from the ocean, to produce world-class grapes. The difference, however, is that Santa Barbara's coastal valleys run west to east (as opposed to north to south) meaning the chilly Pacific Ocean breezes and fog is funnelled inland into the vineyards. Albariño thrives in these conditions. With a slower, longer growing season, it develops nuanced flavours while preserving an elegant freshness. Pure bright fruit with a subtle saline finish, enjoy this fruity-fresh white on its own or with fish tacos too.
