Description Monterra wines is a relatively new operation but the team behind it has simply phenomenal experience. The quality and success that its wines are now receiving should not surprise when you take a look at its pedigree. The owner is Canadian-born and raised (but long-term McLaren Vale resident) Norm Doole, for decades a grape grower, who founded 5-star DOWIE DOOLE with Drew Dowie in 1995. Heading the winemaking team is Mike Farmilo, once at Southcorp, where he was twice awarded the prestigious Jimmy Watson Trophy and produced Penfolds Grange, St Henri and Bin 707 among others.
