It's a rare white wine made from the red Sangiovese grape – and has already notched up a huge 96pt score. Sofia Barbanera is an exceptional, pioneering winemaker at her family’s beautiful Tuscan estate, which has been handcrafting excellent wines for over 80 years. (Her Saracosa wines are massively popular among our customers.) Surrounded by some of the region’s most famous cellars, Sofia works hard to impress. Knowing her fans' love for Sangiovese, Sofia took it for a spin, with fantastic results. Her creation - a dazzlingly fresh white! Personally selecting the vineyard plots for this wine, she gave the grapes the gentlest pressing to ensure a light wine with quince and citrus aromas. Wonderfully, it still retains the tart cherry hallmarks of Sangiovese. Deliciously different and ideal with risotto, seafood and chicken.
