Description Heirloom was listed as one of Halliday’s Best New Wineries in 2012, and just a few short years later achieved an impressive 5 Red Star status and an astonishing array of 93+ scores. Heirloom’s mission is to preserve and champion South Australia’s unique old vineyards and varieties. Along the way, they’re turning out some simply outstanding wines like this stand-out Shiraz from an outstanding winemaker. Elena Brooks has crafted a Barossa classic, loaded with dark fruit flavours – blackberries, black cherries, mulberries and satsuma plums – with touches of violets, olives, licorice and chocolate. Impressive depth of flavour with fine tannins transporting you to a heavenly state. Ned Goodwin MW, writing for the Halliday Wine Companion, described this as “ full-bodied… a strong streak of regionality”, while scoring 91 points. Show judges were even more enthusiastic.
