Description The Manzanos family have over 125 years of history as grape growers, and in 2002 completed a state of the art winery. Their estate lies in Rioja Alavesa, where the rivers Ebro and Ega join, which affords beautiful views over the surrounding countryside. The early death of their father saw Victor and David Manzanos (even now only in their 20s) take up the reins, and judging by recent reviews they are doing an excellent job. As you’d expect of this flagship Reserva, selection of the grapes was rigorous, and quality is excellent in this 2015 vintage. Ageing in small barriques for two years and the rest in bottle has added layers of complexity that will slowly unfurl, making this red a perfect partner for roast beef or a herby lamb casserole.
