Description During summer, native Bearded Dragon lizards find their way into grapes destined for the winery. Luckily for the lizards, the gentleness of our crusher allows them topass through the ordeal slightly shaken, but unharmed. As for the wine it’s a golden delight. A charmingly beautiful scent with peach, apricot, vanilla and white spices. Flavours of nectarine, apple, pear, citrus peel, white pepper and a touh of vanilla. A deft touch of old French oak adds extra complexity and a wonderfully rich and round mouth feel. This is a crisp Chardonnay from the cool climate Adelaide Hills. "...with the drive of both a cool year and modern styling... all the trappings that can make chardonnay so seductive – nectarine, white peach, salted praline, hazelnut, lemon curd. 91pts" (Marcus Ellis, The Halliday Wine Companion). From d’Arenberg’s Osbourne family – a founding member of Australia’s First Family of Australian Wines.
Adelaide Hills is based in the southern Mount Lofty Ranges just east of Adelaide in South Australia. Adelaide Hills is a premium and ancient region with a decidedly cooler climate, meaning crisp nights adds wonderful aromatics to the wines. Adelaide Hills was one of the first regions in Australia to be settled by European settlers of German origin. Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are the hero grapes of the region.
