Description Located on the famous Right Bank alongside Saint-Émilion and Pomerol stands Château du Gazin. Since 1532 the château has been producing wines, but a new chapter began when the Robert family, originally from Burgundy, acquired the estate almost 90 years ago. The vineyards were revitalised and since 2018 the estate has been converting their wines to organic. Château du Gazin is from vineyards in the Canon-Fronsac. The appellation lies upon clay-limestone soils, similar to those found in Saint-Émilion, and is known for its big full-bodied reds. This 2018 is mostly Merlot with red berry Cabernet Franc and juicy Malbec. It shows dark berry fruit with hints of mocha and smoky oak. A beautiful pairing alongside braised beef or cheese.
