Description From humble beginnings in the 1890s, where itinerate farmers scratched a living out of the native bushland, to today’s world famous wine growing region, Margaret River has seen a true ‘Rags to Riches’ story. The 2021 vintage required extra work and attention to detail in the vineyard. The Wilyabrup Cabernet block responded well to the extra work and achieved optimum ripeness. The final wine shows great fruit purity and varietal expression with lower alcohol which helps the aromatics pop; plums, cherry, mulberry, and subtle anise. On the palate, concentrated mulberry and blackberry are balanced by cool-climate acidity, savoury forest floor notes and lingering tannins.
