Description
Welcome to Portugal’s dark, rich and spicy reds. For $17.99 a bottle, saving you $124, enjoy 12 lavish hero ‘black reds’ – a much-loved style from “the most exciting wine place on the planet.” (Wine Spectator).
Our superb relationships with Portugal’s top estates means you can enjoy a wide range of the country’s flavour-packed reds. Producers like Maria João and José Luís at Casa Santos Lima who make Amoras and Stones and Bones, winemaker Jaime Quendera who crafts Portinho de Covo and Rocksand Shiraz, the Douro’s Van Zeller’s family behind Baronesa de Vilar and José Neiva Correia's pure Alicante Bouschet winner of 49 Golds in total in 10 vintages!
Gorgeous, rich Portuguese red from 15th-generation winemaker Alvaro van Zeller. His family have been crafting fine ports since 1715 and now sumptuous dry reds, too. Using a trio of Douro grapes, aged in old port barrels, it’s brimful of spicy fruit.
This voluptuous red wine, brimming with rich black fruit is made by star winemaker Jaime Quendera. It’s a delicious combination of native Aragonês, Castelão and Alicante Bouschet, grown in ocean-cooled, fast-draining soils of the Setúbal Peninsula.
Velvety, black fruit Alicante Bouschet is usually reserved for Portugal's red blends, but José Neiva Correia has given it centre stage here. Fellow winemakers called it madness but 49 Golds in 10 vintages proves him right.
A gorgeously rich, weighty Shiraz from top winemaker, Jaime Quendera the man behind many reds loved by customers and critics alike. Sandy soils and abundant sunshine on the Setúbal Península make for a big, spicy, powerful red wine.
As our range illustrates, Portugal is “the most exciting wine place on the planet” says Wine Spectator. And Amoras is one of the country’s best-value finds. It has a port-like richness, silky smooth texture and real drinkability.
Velvety, mouthfilling and luscious, Gold, 91pt Stones & Bones has been one of our bestselling Portuguese red wines – and is from a distinguished estate. The country boasts some of the most impressive flavour and value in the world.
