Description
Dark, complex and very appealing cool climate Adelaide Hills Single Vineyard Shiraz crafted by the dynamic Steve Grimley.
Steve's understandably very happy with this, telling us it's: "Inky black, heaps of oak char/graphite/malt/pepper on the nose, clearly a proper wine, and it knows as much with a presence that carries through beyond swallowing it. In amongst the swagger there’s a tight, slightly acid line that gives tension and an unmistakable indication of longevity without detracting from drinkability. It’s young, potentially a bit young but it’s still a hell of a drink and clearly a very good example of what the best sites in the region can produce." Fruit is from the Cameron Vineyard in Willunga, machine picked and processed at the winery in a pretty traditional way, It spent 10 days on skins in a 2t open fermenter, and 14 months in a combination of oak, inc new before bottling. It's one to savour!
