Once upon a time there was a brilliant, acclaimed McLaren Vale winemaker, (who chooses to remain nameless) who also kept pigs. A big black pig called Tanuki was his first. He loved Tanuki so much he named a delicious, brand new Shiraz in his honour and we all quickly found that customers and show judges loved The Black Pig as much as he did.’ Tanuki’s descendants still roam the winemaker’s paddocks today, The Black Pig Shiraz has remained a constant bestseller ever since, and the family has grown and grown and each new member is greeted with enthusiasm.
