Description
Savour a lifted bouquet of red to black fruits including wild strawberry, raspberry, and black cherry, supported by subtle spice. French oak maturation took place to introduce subtle spice and structure while maintaining varietal finesse. An excellent Pinot to partner charcuterie – especially plates including soft cheeses such as camembert. A winner with roast pork and mushroom risotto too.
Alex studied viticulture at La Trobe and subsequently moved to Mildura. He made wine at Zilzie in '08 and then at Angove Family Winemakers before making his own wines from 2014. He is turning out some really exceptional wines under his new Russell & Suitor label. The Franca’s Vineyard label aims to offer wines of great varietal integrity in a very approachable style – a delight to drink. We’re finding the wines juicy, delicious and very very moreish. You can really taste the sunshine-rich fruit in every bottle! Enjoy this lovely ripe Pinot Noir from Alex Russell either room temperature with food or even on its own, slightly chilled.
