Description
A triumphant Trophy-winning, Top Gold, 95pt Malbec from Langhorne Creek. “Malbec this good at this price, really, it doesn’t get any better. Although if Bleasdale doesn’t do great Malbec, then no one does. At first, it appears all upfront fruit – black and satsuma plums, blackcurrants – but then savoury notes come through all spiced to the max with pepper, sumac and licorice, some roasted red capsicum, too. There are plentiful tannins, ripe and stretchy across the fuller-bodied palate, and it finishes convincinglyDistinctively and pleasingly varietal as much as an imprint of place and producer. 95pts. Great Value” (Jane Faulkner, The Halliday Wine Companion)."
John Lehmann writing in The Australian agrees: "There’s something special about Malbec from Langhorne Creek, and this has a confidence from the first sniff – enjoy blueberry, milk chocolate and vanilla but also some pepper and bay leaf. Then the palate is juicy and fruity, with dark chocolate on the finish and a good acidity to dress the soft tannins."
This also boasts major awards from wine shows around the country (Hobart, Melbourne and Perth).
“Not only one of the most historic wineries in Australia, with over 170 years of continuous winemaking by the direct descendants of the founding Potts family, but one of the LEADING QUALITY PRODUCERS IN THE LAND.” (The Halliday Wine Companion) It has been an exceptional few years for Bleasdale, after winning two of the Australian wine industry's most coveted trophies, Paul Hotker being awarded the Halliday 'Winemaker of the Year 2018', and then, crowned 2024 Halliday Wine Companion Awards – Winery of the Year. Naturally, it finds a place, (no.51) in the Halliday Top 100 wineries.
