Description
Take home an impressive, bold and elegant Cabernet Sauvignon from a prime vineyard of a rising star estate in Victoria..
It comes from the rising star Greenstone Vineyards, with two vineyards, one in Heathcote, the other from the Yarra Valley – (Yarra legend Rob Dolan’s old ‘Sticks’ winery vineyard, and formerly called Yarra Ridge – first planted in 1983 by Louis Bialkower and his good friend James Halliday!). This site, where the Cabernet for this is grown, is the home of the winery itself, about an hour away from Melbourne.
The name Greenstone is derived from the ancient Cambrian soils in the Heathcote vineyard. These – the result of underwater volcanic activity – are some of the oldest in the country – and have a deep, iron-rich red colour mottled with lime green-tinted copper-infused basalt!
