Description Martínez Bujanda has been making Riojas for over 130 years and remains one of the most innovative and influential bodegas in the appellation. The estate was founded in the late 19th century and was transformed in 1984 when the Bujanda brothers, Jesús and Carlos, built an ultra-modern facility, still one of the finest in Europe. A decade later Carlos bought the single vineyard Finca Valpiedra estate, superbly situated in a bend of the Ebro River. His wines have won many top accolades. Los Trinos (‘the trills’), named after the sound of the estate’s abundant birdlife, is a rich, complex Reserva, aged 20 months in US oak barrels, the rest in bottle. Enjoy silky, mature berry flavours tempered by oak spice. A perfect red with lamb or tapas.
