Description Sourced from a mix of family-owned and grower vineyards throughout central and southern Barossa including long-term growers like the Semmler family. The family-owned vineyards are predominantly bush vine grown, and include some of the oldest vines in the Barossa. Half the volume of this delightful 93pt Grenache was matured in 2,500L French oak foudres, with the rest spending 8-9 months in barrels of various ages. Confectionary, jubes, cherry, violets, lavender, and potpourri are the first aromas to jump out of the glass. Behind these primary aromas are hints of stalky complexity, subtle sherbet and musk. The palate is all about the fruit, showcasing the cherry and musk flavours, with a balanced level of varietal chalky grenache tannins. "This is sweetly ripe and immediately appealing on the nose with dark plum, spiced cherry, clove and mixed nut aromas, followed by a fruit-forward palate that's smooth and plump. Well supported by fleshy texture and polished tannins, finishing lingering and finely dry... 93pts" (Sam Kim, Wine Orbit).
