Description Haut-Brion trained, Trophy-winning winemaker Jean-Marc Sauboua started a winery of his own in 2006, not in Bordeaux, but in Rioja. His mother is Spanish and he decided Rioja was his destination. His aim: to make a Grand Cru of Rioja. He has no vineyards but works with the same growers he has since the start. The mature vines lie above 700 metres, the highest in all Rioja, to ensure an elegant style. He's won over 300 Golds since 2006, as well as Winery of the Year, Rioja of the Year and Best Spanish Red over £10 Trophies. This is a special 2020 Crianza left unfined and unfiltered to capture maximum richness, so it will have some sediment. Stand the bottle upright for a few hours, so the solids drop to the bottom, then pour carefully.
