Description Savour a real Barossa beauty from Tim Cox's Allegiance Wines. This multi-Gold Barossa Reserve Shiraz has a raft of high point scores. For Dave Brookes in The Halliday Wine Companion there is "“Solid Barossa drinking here with ripe blackberry, black cherry and dark plum fruits, fruitcake, clove, wood spice, licorice, fruit and nut chocolate, cherry conserve, panforte, coal dust, tapenade and earth… a nice velvety fruit flow, rich black fruits, a seam of fresh acidity and a powdery tannin grip. It is well made and pretty much ticks all the boxes for a classic regional wine. 92pts.” For Sam Kim, Wine Orbit: "It's beautifully fruited and inviting on the nose, showing dark plum, black cherry, thyme, game, and toasted nut aromas. The palate delivers succulent fruit intensity with supple texture and beautifully flowing mouthfeel. It's wonderfully structured by finely infused tannins, finishing long and satisfying. 94pts" and Ken Gargett, WinePilot finds it has: "...an elegance that we don’t see in every Barossa Shiraz. The colour here is a crimson red, with the nose giving us notes of spices, mocha, blackberries, coffee beans, black fruits, aniseed and dried herbs. It lifts even further on the palate with juicy acidity and good energy, finishing with impressive length. Good now, better in a couple of years, and it will provide pleasure for at least the next six to eight years.
